Universities and colleges in the Asia region are invited to send their teams to participate in the MyTRIZ Competition 2013. After a successful local introduction of MyTRIZ Competition last year, MyTRIZ with the support of Intel and Multimedia Development Corporation, have decided to expand the competition to a regional level.
Universities and colleges in the Asia regions are invited to send teams to the MyTRIZ Competition 2013. Registration for the Competition will open on 1st July 2013, followed by proposal submission on 31st August 2013 and the finals will be on 29th November 2013. Two TRIZ Masters, Dr. Mark Barkan and Mr. Anatoly Guin will be back in Malaysia for a train the trainer session on the subject. Six workshops will be organized over a period of 21 days at 4 venues: 7-9th November 2013 in Melaka, 11-13th & 14-16th November 2013 in Genting Highlands, 18-20th November 2013 in Kuching, and 22-24th & 26-28th November 2013 in Penang. More information will be provided in July 2013.
The interest to learn TRIZ has exploded. 36 classes have been scheduled and conducted in the first half of 2013. This is a 6X increase compared to previous years where we conduct only 5-6 classes in the same period of time.
Propelling more growth into the industry, on 1st February 2013, Malaysia Productivity Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MyTRIZ and a local training provider Al Biruni Solutions to market TRIZ to their network of companies focusing primarily on local Small Medium Enterprises.
TRIZ was also featured as part of the Penang International Science Fair. The 2-day event was hosted at Straits Quay Penang on 13-14 April 2013. A huge turn-out at the fair and a total of 100 school kids had the opportunity to learn TRIZ and Open Problem concepts facilitated by Dr. TS Yeoh and TJ Yeoh. Both facilitators were assisted by a team of Intel volunteers.
The MyTRIZ Annual General Meeting was organized on 15th March 2013. 32 members attended and the new MyTRIZ Committee was elected for year 2013-2015. MyTRIZ welcomes Dr. Wan Nazmee Wan Zainon (USM), Dr. David Chieng (MIMOS), Dr. Yip Mun Wai (TARC), Dr. Muthukaruppan Annamalai (UiTM), Zulhasni Abdul Rahim (Proton) and Issac Lim (Monash) to the committee.
MyTRIZ would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Yew Kok Meng (former MDeC), Mr. Jesse Chooi (MDeC), Dr. Rosni Abdullah (USM), Dr. Ng Swee Chin (TARC), Dr. Ismail Abdullah (USIM) and Dr. Satesh Namasivayam (Taylors) for their guidance and support as the previous MyTRIZ Committee 2011-2013.
Last but not least, I would like to announce that MyTRIZ is offering 10 free consulting projects for local companies. The scope of project should be within 30-90 days. Participating companies must allow MyTRIZ to publish the project case study once completed. Anyone interested in taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity, please contact the Association for details.
