Prism of Possibilities with TRIZ ... MyTRIZ Competition 2014
As the old saying goes - curiosity killed the cat. While it may have affected many cats, it is the basis of education.  With the knowledge gained from the School for Creative Thinkers workshop, three participants were so motivated that they immediately took the opportunity to share the techniques for creativity development with their colleagues’ children.  At the Intel Malaysia Design Center - Bring your Kids to Work Day on 30 December 2013, Theresa Loh, Ong Boon Yean and Aileen Kee organized five workshops to impart the Open Problem Solving techniques to 125 children. The children and their parents gave a double thumbs-up on what was shared and hope that more trained practitioners will replicate the effort.

TRIZ Camp 2014 @ UTEM.  13 TRIZ trained facilitators from the Faculty of Information Communication and Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Melaka pooled their resources together and offered a 4 day TRIZ Camp for the secondary school students. 96 students and 6 teachers from 6 leading MARA colleges were introduced to TRIZ by the team. For 4 days from 10-13 February 2014, the group explored various TRIZ tools and experienced the Open Problem Solving techniques. MARA which stands for Majlis Amanah Rakyat or National People Trust aims to develop global entrepreneurship and produce global leaders.

Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) continues to push forward aggressively to promote TRIZ to local Small and Medium Enterprises (SME).  The aim is to increase the competitiveness of SMEs and enhance their contributions to the economy.  With this charter, a Round Table Discussion was organized in early February 2014 to develop a local language introductory course on TRIZ.  MPC is well on the way to producing the first local language TRIZ module.  We are certain that this will help to increase the productivity and innovativeness of the SMEs.

31 members attended the MyTRIZ Annual General Meeting 2014.  The AGM was conducted on 11 April 2014 at the MSC Malaysia K-Workers Development Center, Cyberjaya.  It was later than the usual mid-March timing due to delays in infrastructure availability. The members reviewed the past year's performance and financial health of the Association.  They were provided insights into the strategic plan and the exciting journey ahead.  MyTRIZ will plow on with the strategy to scale the learning platform, expand the sharing platform and create a consulting platform.
